WOPC 2009 YOUTH EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Friday Night (July 24th)

Mixer (Meet and Greet) Session - We would like a Guest Speaker, preferably someone that can share with us the history of Owerri, and the goals of WOPC. This would enable us feel a sense of belonging, and work towards a collective contribution to WOPC.

Saturday Evening (July 25th)

WOPC Youth - Community Award Session - We want to encourage all WOPC Youth to participate in their community, eg. Community Service, Church Service, Volunteer Services, etc. So, WOPC Youth should write and send in an ESSAY stating their accomplishments in their community. This will prompt the Youth to be concerned, and endeavor to contribute to their community, as well as sharpen their writing skills. This is for ages 15 to 25. The deadline for this will be Wednesday, July 22nd. All essays should be sent via email to amara.obiyo@gmail.com and oguerichioma@yahoo.com. The Essays will be reviewed, and THREE AWARDS will be announced and given based on selected criteria and age criteria- this will take place on Saturday Night. There will be a debate on a couple of issues, such as the "American Attire Culture" (eg. sagging clothes). So WOPC Youth - Get Ready!!

Saturday Night will also entail a mini talent show, named "WOPC ~ Who's Got Talent" - Various talents include playing of instruments, dancing, singing, ETC. All interested should send their talent information to
amara.obiyo@gmail.com, and oguerichioma@yahoo.com. The deadline for this is Monday, July 20th.
