Nde Owerri ndewonu,
As we are are all aware that there is an evolving global risk from the Corona virus. The spread of which has been elevated by the World Health Organization to the level of a pandemic.
The leadership of the WOPC is keeping a watchful eye on the evolving situation and following up with emergent global, national and local public health and safety informations and guidance as it pertains to the evolving risk of the corona virus. The national executive council and the Board of directors have scheduled meetings this weekend and the next to deliberate on contigency measures and courses of action as it pertains to the the 20th anniversary Convention of the WOPC scheduled in July 2020.
As institutions, governmennts and organizations deploy contingency measures to halt the spread of the virus without suspending the business of life and living, the leadership of the WOPC is well aware of its responsibility to its stakeholders which is the putting the lives and health of its membership above all other considerations. Our decisions shall be guided by conditions on the ground and what is in the best interest of our members and the organization. Decision as maybe reached will be presented to the Congress of the WOPC through the medium of the telephone conference.
I urge all members to follow local public health and safety guidelines and information to be safe while not giving-in to irrational anxeity and or unhelpful panic.
Chineke nde Owerri Chekwa umu Owerri nile!
Uzoma Iheanacho
President of the WOPC.
